The National and University Library of Iceland
The National and University Library of Iceland is a source of knowledge for everyone. It serves the Icelandic community in all areas of reference and academic discipline and plays a leading role in the collection, preservation and dissemination of information, thus making a vigorous contribution to culture, research and creative work.

It is open to the public. Users pay for services such as interlibrary loans, photocopying, scanning and printouts. Library cards for loans are issued for a nominal fee. Library cards are free for students at the University of Iceland.

There are 500 seats, 100 PCs and audiovisual equipment in the library. In the library building there is wireless access to the Internet (hot spot). Online services are provided on the library website.
